Susan Kay Thompson was born and raised in Idaho. Born Susan Kay Roberson, she was the middle child in a family of seven children. Throughout her lifetime, Susan attended Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, spent a couple of years living in Europe, and spent over twenty years working with her husband as a broker in their real estate business. She is married to Bill Thompson, has four grown children and four grandchildren. Bill and Susan make their home in Meridian and McCall, Idaho. They enjoy traveling, playing golf, gardening and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Many fond memories of Susan Kay's childhood include the times she read books, especially those that taught life lessons. She always envisioned that one day she would write books that would inspire others - especially girls and young women - to overcome adversity and hardship, and feel empowered to make a better life for themselves.

The demands of raising a family and taking care of a business left little time for dreaming, but now that her children are grown, Susan Kay looks forward to putting her stories on paper and publishing many books. Letters For Sarah is her first novel to be published and she is working on her second novel.
